At Optimedics LLP, we recognized an emerging need for advanced non-invasive ventilation solutions tailored specifically for neonates globally. Understanding the limitations of existing systems, we set out to design a next-generation neonatal ventilator that could deliver multiple non-invasive therapies with precision, reliability, and clinical effectiveness. A key focus of our development was to achieve accurate synchronized non-invasive ventilation—a feature that is technically challenging yet critically important for preterm infants. By carefully studying neonatal respiratory physiology, spontaneous breathing patterns and analyzing clinical data across different age groups, we engineered a unique integration of hardware design and intelligent software algorithms called “Optisynch”. This innovation allows effective patient–ventilator synchrony even under difficult conditions such as uncontrolled variable leaks.
